"A gente vem pra cidade pra estudar - e também mostrar a nossa cultura, como é que a gente vai mostrar se só ficar na nossa aldeia, vai ensinar pra quem? Pra quem já sabe como é? A gente tem que ensinar e mostrar a cultura, a verdade, o que que é cada cultura de cada povo, que não é igual. Falam o "índio", mas não é o índio, são os povos indígenas, são 300 e poucos povos diferentes, línguas diferentes, culturas diferentes. E isso não é falado, não é discutido e isso aqui, esse espaço é pra isso, pra você mostrar sua cultura. Não tem um lugar que o povo indígena chegue e possa mostrar sua cultura. Esse lugar já era indígena, a gente tem que defender."

Um dos depoimentos gravados em 12-01-2013, quando o batalhão de choque cercava a aldeia. A situação pode se repetir a qualquer momento.
